What’s in a name?

February 6th, 2011 by violette

I am asked, “How did you get the name?” Well, I made it up!   And, “Why the name, Lady Violette de Courcy?”  I wanted something to do with flowers and something colorful, thus Violette. And something loving and romantic, thus de Courcy which means, literally in French, of the heart. The entire name translates to Violet of the Heart.

Well yes, Lady Violette de Courcy is my name of choice as it suits me better than the name my parents gave me and the name I later acquired through marriage to my ex-husband. I think we all should be able to name ourselves if we want to be known by a name that suits us better.
